REVIVE! is the Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education (OONE) program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. REVIVE! provides training to professionals, stakeholders, and others on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of naloxone (Narcan ). Lay Rescuer trainings are between 1-1.5 hours long. This training covers understanding opioids, how opioid overdoses happen, risk factor for opioid overdoses, and how to respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of Naloxone.

Rural Substance Abuse Awareness Coalition

Get involved with the Rural Substance Abuse Awareness Coalition.

RSAAC exists to inspire, equip, and educate the people of Goochland and Powhatan on the issues of substance abuse. Their vision is a community free from substance abuse.

Lock and Talk Virginia:  Lock Meds, Lock Guns, Talk Safety

Mental Health First Aid

Help others gain the skills to recognize and respond to mental health problems by hosting a Mental Health First Aid Training with a group of 10 to 30 participants.

We offer both the Adult and Youth Versions of this course free of charge.

Behavioral Health and Wellness

The Office of Behavioral Health and Wellness at Goochland Powhatan Community Services serves to reduce substance abuse and promote a healthy community through partnerships. Our role in partnering with other groups, agencies, and individuals includes:
  1. Participating in community task-forces and work groups related to suicide prevention, substance misuse prevention, and mental health, and wellness.
  2. Providing Youth MHFA and Adult MHFA to groups of 10 or more.
  3. Using local data to understand how mental health issues and substance misuse are impacted by resources, policy, and disparity.
Goochland County Community Services Board has offices to serve residents in both Goochland and Powhatan Counties.
